Privacy Policy

Digitech Security Systems Inc (Digitech) is committed to maintaining your confidence and trust. We take precautions to protect not only your home and business but your information too. When you submit sensitive information, your information is protected both online and offline.

All Digitech staff with access to your personal information are also bound to adhere to this policy as part of their contract with Digitech.

Information Collection, Use and Sharing

Digitech collects information to better serve your needs and respond to your inquiries, service requests and to process billing. Such information may include your name, address, telephone number(s), email address, credit card or banking information. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. We collect this information with your consent. It is implied that if you provide us with personal information, you have given your consent to use your information for its intended purposes.

At certain points where personal information is collected on our website, office@digitechsecurity.ca, you may indicate you would like to be on a mailing list to receive information. At any time, you may opt out of future contact.

We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill our business relationship as detailed (but not limited to) the following:

1. Security System Customers (Monitored and Local systems)

If you are a monitored customer, the monitoring station for your security system requires certain information to enable monitoring of your property. They are provided with your name, address, telephone number, system password(s) and keyholder contact lists. The monitoring station accounting department may also be provided with your personal banking information if you choose to enrol in the Pre-Authorized Payment plan.

If you are a monitored account that has engaged the services of an alarm response company, such as Progarde Security Inc, we will also provide them with your personal information in order for them to serve you.

In some municipalities, the police department requires your personal information in order to register each alarm system to which a police response to an alarm is desired. The only personal information provided to them is your name, address, telephone number and the names of your alarm company and monitoring station.

2. Legal Authorities/Collection Agencies

In the event that we would seek outside assistance in collecting a delinquent account, we will provide the collection agency and/or legal authority with the information required to collect the delinquent account on our behalf, or begin any proceedings therein. Other legal authorities may also require your personal information, in such cases we would disclose your personal information only as we are required to do so by law.

3. Insurance Companies

Many insurance companies offer discounts on your policy with proof of installation of a monitored security system. At your request, Digitech will provide a Security System Certificate of Installation to you, or directly to your insurance provider. This certificate will include your name, address and type of security system.

Our website may also contain links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.

Computer Tracking and Cookies

Our web site is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information not entered by its visitors. Our site logs do not generate certain kind of non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our site. This information is used for internal purposes by technical support staff to provide better services but again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be used to gather such information.
